The Choir

Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. - Choir Practice in the Sanctuary

During the year

The Choir rehearses every Thursday evening from 7:30 until 9:00 p.m. from immediately after Labour Day to just before the May holiday weekend. The annual program consists of special music for Christmas and a spring concert every April, as well as Introits and Anthems for the Sunday services. The McConkey bequest allows the choir to engage soloists, maintain the pianos and organ and purchase new anthems. At the moment it is looking for new members in all four voices, the only requirement being an ability to sing in tune. Anyone interested in joining the Choir should contact Alan Thomas at 613-829-2017 .

Alan Thomas has been Organist and Choir director since 1977, Director of Music at Ashbury College from 1974 to 1984, staying on as College Organist until 1996. He is very active in Ottawa's music scene, notably with Cammac , with the Parkdale Orchestra and with international Welsh music festivals here and in the USA.
